What was supposed to be a serious discussion about cryptocurrency quickly turned into an internet spectacle after Trump appeared to struggle with the term “meme coin.”
According to this satirical scenario, Trump initially referred to the tokens as “mimi coins” while answering a question about speculative cryptocurrencies.
When the term came up again, he reportedly repeated the pronunciation.
“These mimi coins, a lot of people are talking about them,” the fictional Trump quote reads. “Very successful coins. People like them.”
The imaginary exchange immediately sent social media into overdrive, with crypto traders joking that “mimi coin” could become the next major meme-token trend.
