After nearly a month of thinking, discussing and searching for the perfect name, the rare albino capybara that recently captured attention online has officially been named Albert.

The unusually white capybara first gained attention after appearing among a group of normally colored capybaras, immediately standing out because of its bright white fur and pale pink features.

Since then, one question has remained unanswered: what should the rare little capybara be called?

For weeks, different names were considered, but no decision was made. Those caring for the capybara wanted a name that felt simple, memorable and fitting for such an unusual animal.

Now, after around a month of consideration, the decision has finally been made.

His name is Albert.

Albert is believed to have albinism, a rare genetic condition that causes the body to produce very little or no melanin. This can result in white or extremely pale fur, skin and other features.

Despite his extraordinary appearance, Albert behaves just like the other capybaras around him. He spends his time relaxing, exploring and staying close to the rest of the group.

His white coat makes him almost impossible to miss when standing beside the brown-furred capybaras, but within the group, Albert appears completely at home.

The decision to name him Albert now gives the rare capybara an identity of his own after weeks of growing attention.

What began as curiosity about an unusually colored capybara has now turned into a story followed by animal lovers who have watched the little white capybara become increasingly recognizable.
